Frogs in Monet's Pond
Second grade students were introduced to the artist Monet. We looked at a few of his paintings and talked about Monet's life and style of art.
The students glued blue paper strips to paper to create Monet's pond. They created movement in the water by popping up the strips to create waves.
Next , they drew a realistic frog and painted it with watercolors. Details were added with markers.
Finally, the students added details to the pond such as a lily pad and a flower.
