2nd Grade Penguins

Clay Penguins

Second grade students created wonderful clay penguins.

The students carefully molded the different body parts of their penguin.

Next, they painted their penguin.

Finally, a piece of wood was painted blue to represent water and styrofoam was glued into place to create ice.

We identified different types of penguins such as the Emperor Penguin, the Rockhopper, and the Chinstrap Penguin.

Frequently asked questions:

Do I have to stay for the whole hour during the Art Show?
No. Please note this event is a POP IN event. There is no formal ceremony.

Where is the Performing Arts Center?
The Performing Arts Center is located at Burlington Township High School.

What is there to do at the Art Show?
There will be a small art activity for the children, an art raffle, and a large poster for parents to write a message for the artists. Also, there will be over 200 pieces of art to view!

Why doesn't my child have artwork on display?
Mr. Giannetto and Ms. Moore have included as many students' projects as possible. The space is very limited at the Performing Arts Center and as a result a sampling of projects is chosen. Each child at Young School has the chance to display work in the hallways and at other art events such as the End of the Year 2nd Grade Art Showcase or the revolving display at the Board of Education Offices.

What if there is bad weather?
Please check back to this blog for updated information. Also, in the event that the Opening Night is postponed you may receive an email notification from the district and/or a new updated invitation.
