Family S.T.E.A.M. Night

Family Fun @ Family S.T.E.A.M. Night
Science! Technology! Engineering! Art! & Math!

Ms. Barron, Ms. Dewey, and Mr. Giannetto had a blast with students and families during Family S.T.E.A.M. Night!

Ten stations were set up in the cafeteria and students chose the S.T.E.A.M. stations that most interested them.

I loved the marble run wall! The students were so creative.

Families enjoyed making catapults with wooden sticks, plastic spoons, and rubber bands. How far and how high did the catapult send the marshmallow into the air?

These Kindergarten students are building with toothpicks and gum drops.

One of the favorite stations of the night was also one of the messiest! These boys are getting dirty at the Build-A-Volcano station.

How high can you build a tower of index cards?

This Build-A-Chair station was also a big hit. Make sure the chair is strong enough to hold one of the stuffed animals.

How many marbles can your tinfoil/paper boat hold without sinking?

Frequently asked questions:

Do I have to stay for the whole hour during the Art Show?
No. Please note this event is a POP IN event. There is no formal ceremony.

Where is the Performing Arts Center?
The Performing Arts Center is located at Burlington Township High School.

What is there to do at the Art Show?
There will be a craft activity for the children, an art raffle, and a large poster for parents to write a message to the artists. Also, there will be over 200 pieces of art to view!

Why doesn't my child have artwork on display?
Mr. Giannetto has included as many students' projects as possible. The space is very limited at the Performing Arts Center and as a result a sampling of projects is chosen. Each child at Young School has the chance to display work in the hallways and at other art events such as the 2nd Grade Autumn All About Me Showcase or the revolving display at the Board of Education Offices. Also, all students receive Star Student Art Awards throughout the school year.

What if there is bad weather?
Please check back to this blog for updated information. Also, in the event that the Opening Night is postponed you may receive an email notification from the district and/or a new updated invitation.
