Kindergarten Fall Pumpkins

Kindergarten Pumpkin Patches

The students loved sponge painting!
We hopped with the sponge brush to paint the pumpkins.

Next, the students cut out the pumpkins and glued them to black paper.

Finally, they added stems, grass, leaves and a moon.

Kindergarten students created awesome Autumn artwork!

Many pumpkin patches are now on display at Young School!

2nd Grade: Clay Day!

Self-Portraits
Crayola Model Magic Clay

Second grade students loved creating self-portraits out of clay. All the parts of the face were created by making a ball out of clay or making a coil out of clay.

Each self-portrait is unique.
The students enjoyed looking in the mirror to view their facial features and hairstyles.

Mrs. Montesano's class and Ms. Hollfelder's class painted the skin on their clay self-portraits.
Next week they'll paint the hair and use markers to fill in the eye and lip color.

The self-portraits below are a sampling from Ms. Sadusky's class and Ms.Gablein's class.

Do you recognize your child?

Art to Remember

ART FUNDRAISER

Young School's Art Department is working with the Y.S.F.A. on an exciting Art Fundraiser called Art to Remember.

Each student will complete a project in Art class.

Parents will then receive an envelope containing the order form, brochure, as well as their child's project.

Your child's artwork can be transferred onto a variety of items such as
t-shirts, mugs, stickers, bookmarks, ornaments, and much more.

They make wonderful keepsakes and holiday gifts.

Visit www.arttoremember.com for more information.

These cute Kindergarten cats are from Ms. Zimecki's class
and Ms. McCormick's class. They would look great on a t-shirt!

The adorable dogs below were created by Kindergarten students in
 Mrs. Solomon's class.

Welcome to ART!

Welcome to the Art Room!

I'm excited to begin my fourteenth year teaching Art in Burlington Township.

I had a fantastic summer! I visited Iceland, Denmark, and Sweden.
Here I am at the Museum of Modern Art in Malmo, Sweden.

There are a MINION reasons to love Art at Young School this year!

Students in 2nd grade loved combining art and writing on the first day of Art.
